Apartment Noise Logger Privacy.

Apartment Noise Logger is built with an 'Anonymous-First' philosophy. There is no user registration or sign-up required to access the core features of the app.

You can measure real-time decibel levels, log noise incidents, and join building groups completely anonymously.

Optionally, you may set a custom Display Name in settings to participate in building chats. If left blank, your chat activity defaults to 'Anonymous Resident', shielding your personal identity.

To secure and manage your logs without a personal account, the app generates a random, anonymous Device UUID upon first launch, which is stored locally.

Your noise incidents, audio recordings, and setting calibrations are saved on your device and synced to secure Firebase Firestore and Firebase Storage under this Device UUID.

You have absolute ownership of your data. The 'Clear All Logs' setting in the app instantly wipes your local history and permanently purges all logs and audio files associated with your Device UUID from our Firebase servers.

Microphone Access: Required to measure real-time decibel (dB) levels. The raw audio buffer is consumed transiently on-device to compute sound pressure levels and is not recorded unless you explicitly click the 'Start Recording' button to capture audio evidence.

Location Access (Optional): Used locally to determine your area and display nearby building groups. Your location coordinates are processed in-memory to query neighboring structures and are never saved, tracked, or sent to external servers.

Firebase Suite: We use Firestore, Realtime Database (for group chat messaging), Storage (for secure audio logs), and Cloud Messaging (for notifications).

Google AdMob: We display advertisements (banner, native, and interstitial) to fund the app's ongoing infrastructure. AdMob may collect anonymous device parameters and identifiers to serve relevant ads.

Building chats are public and shared among residents within the same structure. Please be careful not to post sensitive personal details in building chat channels.

To maintain a constructive and respectful atmosphere, residents can report messages that violate safety or community standards, prompting immediate review and moderation.
